Here at Quantum Mechanics, we put an emphasis on being prompt, friendly, and professional.
Our goal is to provide world-class service in an approachable atmosphere.
Quantum Mechanics is comprised of:
Erick Carlson, Owner and Diagnostic Technician
A Decatur native and originally trained as a machinist, Erick seamlessly went from car enthusiast to automotive technician.
He worked with professional Porsche race team, Tafel Racing, during the 2005 and 2006 seasons as a fly-in technician.
Following the closure of his longtime employer, Decatur Automotive Center, Erick decided to pursue his foreign car specialty. In 2006, he formed Quantum Mechanics, around his foreign car specialty. Erick has also been heavily involved in bicycle racing since the early 90's, and in 2006 earned
his semi-professional license for downhill mountain biking racing. In 2009, he again was upgraded, this time to the professional racing class.
Jonathan Tondreau, Manager
Jonathan began taking things apart and reassembling them from an early age. In his early teens, Jonathan began working on RVs, building his mechanical knowledge in several areas. In 2004, Jonathan began working as a technician at Decatur Automotive. Jonathan brings all of his automotive experience to Quantum Mechanics as the Manager, and is in charge of all daily operations. In November of 2005, Jonathan found time to attain his pilot license and flies regularly.
Jason Jones, Lead Technician
Jason's 15 years of experience and staggering amount of knowledge in the automotive field is a real asset here at Quantum Mechanics.
Jason and Erick first crossed paths years ago when they were both employed by Decatur Automotive Center. When Erick was forming Quantum Mechanics, he knew an experienced senior technician would be a critical asset, and Jason has not disappointed. Most recently he has specialized in BMWs and Volvos, but Jason has also worked extensively on exotic European automobiles, among others. Over the years, Jason has accumulated considerable experience with all of the brands we service.
Jason is also an avid bicycle racer, specializing in velodrome track racing events.
Jason's motto "Fix it like your grandmother will be driving it."
Aaron Freeman, Facilitator
Aaron moved to Atlanta in 1998 and met Erick through bicycling, and comes to us from an illustrious 15-year bicycle industry career.
He has been dabbling with 1970's BMW's for years and currently has a '74Tii and a '71 2002 that see track duty several times a year.
Aaron does a little bit of everything around the shop. From service writing and parts management, to hands-on automotive work, Aaron is nothing short of a Solutions Maestro
